California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has come under growing scrutiny following a controversial post made during Vice President J.D. Vance’s family visit to Disneyland. Newsom, considered a likely contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, was accused of targeting the Vice President’s wife and children during what was described as a personal, non-political family vacation.

According to local reports, the Vance family’s arrival at the Anaheim theme park drew the attention of over 100 communist-aligned protesters. Additional groups, reportedly composed of older liberal activists, demonstrated in the surrounding area, including outside the Grand Californian Hotel, where the family was believed to be staying.

Despite the trip’s non-political nature, several California Democrats were said to have encouraged activists to confront the Vice President’s family. Orange County officials expressed disapproval of the visit, linking it to recent federal immigration actions.

Governor Newsom joined in the criticism on social media, delivering a message widely interpreted as a direct attack on Vice President Vance’s family. The post was published on Newsom’s official government account, prompting immediate backlash across conservative platforms.

The controversy appeared to stem from a recent immigration raid conducted at Glass House Farms in Ventura County. During the enforcement operation, several unaccompanied minors were rescued from conditions that suggested potential child labor violations. Among the 300 individuals detained was an illegal alien with a criminal history that included charges of kidnapping, attempted rape, and child molestation. The individual was reportedly working alongside multiple underage children, including a 14-year-old minor.

Border enforcement officials emphasized the gravity of the findings, as the discovery raised broader questions about the state’s sanctuary policies and the apparent exploitation of undocumented minors within its borders.

Critics of Governor Newsom’s response accused the Democrat of deflecting from the disturbing realities uncovered during the raid. Independent analysts, conservative activists, and legal commentators voiced concerns over the Governor’s decision to focus his rhetoric on the Vice President’s family while failing to condemn the employment of violent criminals and children on donor-connected cannabis farms.

Officials within the Department of Homeland Security pushed back, highlighting what was described as Newsom’s defense of criminal aliens, even those convicted of violent and sexual offenses. It was noted that the same farm where the violent offender was discovered had also been the site of protests, confrontations with law enforcement, and the deployment of tear gas due to escalating tensions.

The coordinated immigration operation, which took place at multiple sites including facilities in Camarillo and Carpinteria, revealed a pattern of suspected labor violations involving undocumented minors. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that Glass House Farms is now under formal investigation.

While Newsom’s post garnered support among far-left circles, the broader response from the public and conservative leaders has largely been one of condemnation. Many have pointed to the Governor’s remarks as tone-deaf, especially in light of the exploitation and abuse that was exposed during the federal operation.
