Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a strong ally of former President Donald Trump, has decisively won reelection in her district, solidifying her role as a key defender of conservative values in the House. Her victory is an essential win for the GOP as they fight to maintain their slim majority in Congress amid challenges from Democrats.
Defeating Democratic challenger Shawn Harris, a retired Army veteran, Greene secured 65% of the vote, affirming her wide base of support in Georgia’s 14th District. Greene expressed her gratitude to her constituents, attributing her success to the dedicated support of her district’s voters. She said that she couldn’t do it without him, sharing her excitement from Mar-a-Lago, where she was in attendance to support Trump. She added that she really hoped they bring Georgia home for President Trump, and they could move forward to make America great again.

The race saw nearly $10 million spent, with the majority of that amount coming from Greene, reflecting her commitment to her seat and to advancing the Trump agenda. Harris, however, fell short with just under $2 million, unable to compete with Greene’s campaign’s resources and the momentum she’s built among conservative voters.

In a September post on X, Greene shared a stark warning about the election’s course, calling it the most dangerous phase. Citing Trump’s accelerating support, she voiced concern about the Democrats’ attempts to hinder his return to office, even suggesting that attempts on Trump’s life were part of a broader scheme. She wrote that they’d already been trying to put him in prison and assassinate him.
Amid these concerns, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has also raised questions about the safety of Trump’s protective details. In a Facebook post, Bongino questioned the possibility of a mole within the Secret Service or DHS, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance. Bongino referenced several incidents where foreign actors attempted to infiltrate federal agencies, underscoring the serious security concerns surrounding Trump.

Reflecting on an incident involving Trump’s unannounced visit to a golf course, Bongino explained that only a few individuals had advance knowledge of Trump’s location, suggesting an inside leak may have been responsible. He speculated that some agents might unknowingly be in relationships with foreign operatives, highlighting the need to remain cautious of potential honeypot traps a tactic foreign adversaries use to compromise individuals.
