Following the release of newly declassified files by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, documents that have stirred renewed scrutiny over former President Barack Obama and senior intelligence figures regarding the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion claims, the Department of Justice has formed a dedicated unit to address the matter.

The DOJ confirmed the establishment of a new “strike force” late Wednesday, with the mission believed to be focused on exploring legal consequences arising from what has been described as a politically motivated effort to fabricate links between Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 election cycle. The materials released by Gabbard are said to point toward deliberate manipulation of intelligence to craft a baseless narrative.

According to internal sources, including those cited by Fox News Digital, all available evidence is currently under evaluation, with no investigative lead having been dismissed at this stage. The DOJ’s National Security Division has been expected to play a central role in the inquiry.

The Justice Department has acknowledged the seriousness of what has been described as the weaponization of national intelligence channels for political purposes. Collaboration with Director Gabbard was reportedly being emphasized as key to ensuring full accountability.

The newly assembled strike force is composed of experienced investigators and prosecutors, traditionally deployed to handle major fraud and conspiracy cases, including bank fraud, wire fraud, laundering schemes, and other complex criminal offenses.
Following earlier revelations regarding the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), this action was taken. A recent assessment headed by former CIA Director John Ratcliffe found that the ICA’s establishment was characterized by anomalies and political interference, especially with regard to the inclusion of the widely discredited Steele Dossier.

According to reports, former CIA Director John Brennan was one of the most well-known supporters of the dossier, pushing for its inclusion despite the fact that it was unconfirmed. The dossier, which was funded by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign through Fusion GPS, has been extensively condemned, and intelligence experts who participated in the review harshly blasted its impact on the ICA’s credibility.
Criminal referrals against both Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey have already been initiated by FBI Director Kash Patel, who assumed a leading role in addressing what appears to be a wide-ranging political scheme involving senior Obama-era figures. Though the full extent of these investigations remains undisclosed, internal FBI assessments have reportedly characterized the series of high-level meetings between Brennan and Comey as potentially conspiratorial.
Further legal action is anticipated, with the Justice Department expected to pursue an aggressive review of all available evidence. Multiple avenues for prosecution are believed to be under discussion as the probe expands.
