Tennessee Republican Marsha Blackburn has revealed her intention to pursue the governorship in 2026, following over six years of service in the U.S. Senate. The incumbent governor, Republican Bill Lee, will not be able to seek for office again due to term constraints.

Blackburn has recently attracted media attention for her commentary on the declassification of intelligence documents related to the Russia investigation. During a televised interview, she highlighted findings tied to the Durham report, which questioned the basis of the initial Trump-Russia collusion narrative. The declassified materials, released under the direction of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, were cited by Blackburn as evidence of political maneuvering during the 2016 election cycle.

In the discussion, Blackburn referenced details involving the FBI and CIA, suggesting that officials within the Obama administration had been briefed about a strategy allegedly developed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to associate Trump with Russia as a distraction from controversies involving her email server.
