Fresh disclosures tied to the government’s Crossfire Hurricane probe, the investigation that fueled years of claims about alleged Trump-Russia collusion, have revealed new details casting doubt on the narrative Democrats used to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency. A declassified intelligence memo, released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, confirmed that U.S. intelligence agencies determined Russia did not play a decisive role in Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016. The report concluded that voting systems were never compromised in a way that could alter outcomes, despite minor targeting attempts against state election infrastructure.

The findings indicated that criminal activity surrounding the election lacked the sophistication or scale to impact results. These records echo Trump’s long-standing assertion that the Russia collusion storyline was manufactured. The memo, addressed directly to then-President Barack Obama, explicitly noted that election results were unaffected by Russian activity. Despite this assessment, the Obama administration and Clinton’s campaign operatives continued to press ahead with efforts that painted Trump as compromised by Moscow.

Investigative journalist Paul Sperry reported that internal communications, including emails and text messages, suggest coordination between Clinton campaign aides and senior Obama officials. Evidence points toward cooperation across the White House, State Department, National Security Council, and intelligence community to fabricate connections between Trump and Russia during the heat of the 2016 campaign.

Pressure is now shifting toward those who engineered and advanced the collusion claims. Senior officials at the FBI are reviewing whether criminal investigations should move forward against former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and others who oversaw the launch and management of Crossfire Hurricane. Allegations have surfaced that Brennan may have misled Congress about the role of the Steele dossier in the intelligence community’s assessment, raising concerns of perjury and conspiracy.

Further disclosures may still follow. Reports suggest that the Department of Justice and intelligence agencies are weighing whether to release additional materials, including Crossfire Hurricane transcripts and audit findings connected to special counsel John Durham’s investigation, which already concluded in 2023, that claims of Trump–Russia collusion were baseless.

Meanwhile, former FBI Director Comey has already been indicted on charges linked to misleading testimony before Congress in 2020. The indictment alleges that he obstructed oversight of the FBI’s handling of Crossfire Hurricane and made false statements about the use of anonymous sources within the bureau.

For years, Trump described the Russia probe as a hoax designed to cripple his presidency before it even began. With these new disclosures, the evidence appears to confirm that the real influence operation was not carried out by Moscow, but rather by political figures in Washington determined to stop Trump at any cost.
