As part of larger executive actions issued in the Oval Office, former CISA Director Chris Krebs and former DHS officer Miles Taylor had their security clearances revoked by President Donald Trump, and inquiries into their past behavior were reportedly ordered.

A Presidential Memorandum addressing Krebs was said to have been issued, targeting any remaining access he may have held to government clearances. According to White House staff secretary Will Scharf, the memorandum was understood to instruct the Department of Justice and relevant federal agencies to examine activities Krebs may have engaged in during his leadership at CISA, particularly actions believed to have undermined free speech with the 2020 election and the COVID-19 response.

Krebs, who rose to prominence following the 2020 election, had dismissed concerns regarding voter fraud and claimed that the process was the most secure in American history. This assertion came despite mounting calls from across the country for investigations into significant anomalies and irregularities. His public stance ultimately resulted in his dismissal by President Trump, who viewed the move as essential to reestablishing transparency and accountability within federal agencies. Krebs was described by the president as both “a fraud” and “a disgrace.

A fact sheet released by the White House stated that all active clearances held by Krebs were to be rescinded across every federal agency. Further action was directed to include the suspension of clearances connected to Krebs-linked entities, including SentinelOne, pending national security reviews.

According to reports, the same memo asked the DOJ to look into Taylor as well. Taylor gained notoriety for writing an anonymous 2018 New York Times op-ed criticizing the administration while posing as a senior insider. Taylor had previously acknowledged spearheading internal pushback during President Trump’s first term. After his identification was verified in 2020, he joined CNN as a political analyst.

Security access connected to individuals affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, where Taylor currently lectures, was also ordered to be reviewed in line with national security concerns. President Trump did not mince words regarding Taylor, having referred to his actions as potentially treasonous during the signing of the memorandum.

In a related development, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard disclosed at a Cabinet meeting that U.S. intelligence services had gathered substantial evidence suggesting that electronic voting systems remain susceptible to manipulation.

The findings, according to Gabbard, indicated longstanding vulnerabilities that could allow the alteration of vote counts. She noted that extensive efforts had been initiated to investigate these weaknesses, stressing that the integrity of the electoral process remained a top priority under the Trump administration.
