📞 Presidents Xi and Biden had their first talk in several months. To try to strengthen ties between the two nations, Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping of China had their first one-on-one conversation since November on Tuesday. In light of Xi's recent aggressive actions against Taiwan, Biden underlined the necessity of "peace and stability" in the Taiwan Strait.

🙏 Netanyahu expresses regret for an "inadvertent" aerial bombardment. Governments from all around the world denounced Israel for an airstrike on Monday that claimed the lives of seven volunteers for World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that feeds those impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. As anti-government and anti-Netanyahu demonstrations in Jerusalem grew more intense, the senior Israeli military commander acknowledged the airstrike as a "serious error."

👶 Florida's Supreme Court maintains DeSantis's ban on abortions beyond 15 weeks. Florida's highest court upheld Governor Desantis's ban on abortions beyond 15 weeks on Monday. Moreover, on May 1, a previous statute that reduced the prohibition to six weeks will come into effect due to this ruling. However, the court said in a different decision that a ballot question about the state's constitutional enshrinement of abortion could be included in November's election, potentially overturning the ban.

🏛 A Texas court freed immigrants who had stormed National Guard members from custody. Hundreds of migrants were detained by Border Patrol two weeks ago after they broke through razor wire, stormed the southern border, and ambushed Texas National Guard soldiers. El Paso District Attorney Humberto Acosta stated that the prosecution was "not ready" to take up the detention cases in order to support his decision.
