Liberal and traditional media outlets were taken by surprise when President Joe Biden broke his repeated vow not to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, further exemplifying the media’s poor handling of the ongoing Biden family controversy.

According to a seasoned media insider, The media has disgraced itself in recent years, and this continued failure was evident as the media upheld Biden’s sharpness until his infamous live-streamed debate error, which led many to question his eligibility for another term.

The insider claimed that the media ignored evidence of criminal misconduct by Hunter, which was condoned by Joe Biden and portrayed it as disinformation. Additionally, the media failed to address concerns about the president’s senility, the alleged conspiracy within the Biden family to maintain power, and the corruption they were complicit in.

Before Biden’s election, the New York Post uncovered Hunter’s laptop, which contained compromising images, videos, and private business communications. However, the story was quickly suppressed, with Twitter blocking the link and locking the New York Post’s account for weeks, citing a breach of service rules related to hacked content. Mainstream media outlets like MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NPR, The Washington Post, and The New York Times either spread the “Russian disinformation” narrative or chose to ignore the story altogether. After Biden’s victory, this narrative was disproven, yet the media continued to dismiss the emerging evidence.

Hunter Biden made news during his father’s administration, despite the media’s unwillingness to confront his behavior. Hunter entered a guilty plea to tax evasion charges in early 2024 after being found guilty of felonies relating to federal weapons offenses, and despite President Biden’s repeated statements throughout the year that he would not pardon his son, the media echoed these claims. This mirrored the earlier dismissal of the laptop’s contents as Russian disinformation.

After Biden issued a pardon for Hunter, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the apparent contradiction between Biden’s previous statements and his recent actions. Jean-Pierre defended the president, stating that Biden always aims to be truthful with the American people. She explained that the president’s decision was made after much consideration, acknowledging the influence of political pressures on the justice process, which led to what Biden deemed a miscarriage of justice.

With this decision, Hunter Biden is no longer facing sentencing for separate federal gun and tax evasion cases scheduled for later in the month. Joe Biden’s pardon, which covers any offenses Hunter committed between 2014 and 2024, was granted despite earlier promises to the contrary.
