During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, President-elect Donald Trump declared his intention to sue the Des Moines Register for what he called “election interference” in Ann Selzer’s Iowa election survey. Vice President Kamala Harris led Trump by three points in the pivotal battleground state, according to Selzer’s final poll. Nevertheless, Trump won Iowa handily with 56% of the vote, while Harris received 42.7%.

In response to the criticism, Selzer denied the allegations of misconduct, expressing confusion over the motivations behind the claims. She said that she didn’t understand it and emphasized the seriousness with which she took the accusations. Selzer rejected the notion that she had intentionally influenced the election, stressing that it went against her ethical principles, noting that she had never engaged in such behavior, despite having opportunities to do so in the past.
