Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), who was Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, admitted that he was a little surprised by the results of the presidential election. In an interview with KSTP-TV News, Walz explained that during campaign rallies, events, and visits to shops, it felt as though “the momentum” was in their favor. However, looking back after the loss, he acknowledged there were things they could have done differently.
Walz’s comments came a month after Donald Trump secured the presidency over Harris, reaching the necessary 270 votes in the Electoral College. Trump also won all seven battleground states: Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Michigan.

When asked whether Walz thought he helped or hurt Harris’s campaign, he stated that history will write that. He further reflected on the election loss, admitting there were obviously things they could have done differently, but emphasized that he did the best he could. Walz explained that history would write that and that It wasn’t his decision to make and that was the vice president’s decision.
In the aftermath of the election, Walz has expressed difficulty understanding why so many citizens in the United States chose to vote for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance instead of Harris and Walz.
The only thing that ‘that’ campaign could have done to win is to ‘pretend’ to be conservative and hope their records proving the opposite never saw the light of day.
Lucky for us, it did.
