A significant legislative milestone for the America First agenda was marked by House Speaker Mike Johnson, who called President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill the greatest conservative piece of legislation ever written by Republican members. During a recent appearance on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Johnson emphasized the unity between Trump’s leadership and House Republicans’ legislative goals, describing the GOP’s determination to finish the full package by July 4.

Johnson noted that it’s no longer just a House or Senate bill, it’s the people’s bill, and we’re on the one-yard line. He emphasized that roughly 85–90% of the legislation was shaped by the House, with some conservative modifications from the Senate.

The bill, which has reportedly been in development for over 14 months, was described as the definitive vehicle to enact the priorities outlined during the last election. Johnson asserted that a clear mandate had been received from voters to reduce the size of government, return power to hardworking Americans, and revitalize the economy.

Johnson stated that this legislation is expected to save $1.6 trillion, implement historic tax cuts, and shrink the scope of government while boosting its efficiency, and we’re going to make government work better for the people; it’s what they deserve.

A key provision reinstates work requirements for Medicaid recipients, a move Johnson defended as both popular and necessary. The new policy would require able-bodied adults to demonstrate that they are working, actively seeking employment, or volunteering at least 20 hours a week.

In order to prevent abuse and guarantee that the program is available to people who actually need it—elders, Americans with disabilities, and struggling mothers—he clarified that this is a simple, logical requirement. Johnson also brought up the Trump administration’s prior accomplishments in creating what he called the world’s greatest economy prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, and he claimed that this time, on a far bigger scale, the present law will rekindle that success.

Johnson declared that this is jet fuel for the economy and we’re projecting the average American could see a $10,000 increase in take-home pay. Overtime and tips would be untaxed, and seniors on Social Security would benefit from targeted tax relief.

The bill reportedly includes something for every American, in line with the President’s vision. As Johnson summed it up, it’s smart policy. It strengthens the economy. It fulfills our promises. It delivers the America First agenda.
