Biden expressed that selecting Harris as his running mate was viewed as one of his best decisions, remarking that her story embodies the ideals of America’s narrative. He voiced confidence that her journey would continue as she advocates for Americans, particularly as a role model for future generations.
Former President Barack Obama also shared reflections on the election outcome, acknowledging factors that contributed to Harris’s loss. In a statement released on social media, Obama noted that global challenges such as the pandemic and economic pressures had created difficulties for democratic incumbents, and these headwinds were evident in the election results. Obama highlighted, however, that solutions are achievable if Americans uphold constitutional principles and democratic norms.
