Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has once again rattled his party by refusing to buy into the left’s latest manufactured outrage—this time, over claims that President Trump is leading the country into a “constitutional crisis.”

Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media have been in panic mode after Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticized activist federal judges for blocking efforts by Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to trim bloated government agencies. Now heading the agency, Elon Musk even suggested that some judges be impeached for obstructing necessary reforms.

But Fetterman wasn’t playing along with the hysteria. It was stated by Fetterman to HuffPost on Wednesday that when it had been President Joe Biden, a conservative judge had obstructed his efforts, and now liberal judges were expected to do the same. It was further noted that this was simply how the process worked.

While the Pennsylvania Democrat acknowledged that Musk’s bold moves—such as shutting down wasteful agencies and placing thousands of bureaucrats on leave—are “certainly a concern,” he flatly rejected his party’s doomsday rhetoric. It was stated by Fetterman that no constitutional crisis was occurring and that the situation amounted to nothing more than noise. He further remarked that this was why he would only take action when necessary.

Fetterman’s pragmatism has become more apparent since Trump’s return to the White House. Unlike most of his Democrat colleagues, he has been willing to work across the aisle, recently meeting with the president at Mar-a-Lago, backing key parts of Trump’s immigration plan, praising his foreign policy decisions, and voting to confirm the majority of his Cabinet picks.

It was stated by Fetterman that he still wished him the best and was effectively supporting both him and all the nominees, as they were working for America. This stance stands in stark contrast to that of other Democrats, who continue to obstruct and criticize Trump at every opportunity. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), for example, echoed the usual left-wing alarmism by claiming that the death of democracy was being faced directly, insisting that this was not an exaggeration.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed such rhetoric, pointing out that the real constitutional crisis is the growing overreach of unelected liberal judges. It was stated by Leavitt that the real constitutional crisis was occurring within the judicial branch, where district court judges in liberal courts across the country were accused of abusing their power by unilaterally blocking President Trump’s basic executive authority.

Meanwhile, Fetterman has continued to surprise both sides of the political spectrum. During an appearance on The View, he defended his visit to Mar-a-Lago, recalling Trump as “kind” and “cordial.” It was stated by Fetterman that the interaction had not taken place in a theatrical manner or as an attempt to capture images for social media. Instead, it was described as merely a conversation.

He and his wife, Gisele, reportedly spent over an hour with Trump discussing issues such as protecting Dreamers and food stamp benefits, among other topics. Trump himself had nothing but praise for Fetterman following their meeting. It was stated by Trump to the Washington Examiner that the meeting had been completely fascinating. He described the individual as fascinating and noted that his wife was lovely, further expressing that he could not have been more impressed.

Fetterman’s continued independence is making waves in the Democratic Party, as the left grows increasingly desperate to derail Trump’s administration. But as his party clings to alarmist narratives, Fetterman’s willingness to engage with Trump rather than vilify him may be signaling a shift in how some Democrats approach the president’s undeniable influence.
