This is What Happened After Fetterman Made Shock Constitution Claim

Ever since his extremely visible midterm race against Dr. Mehmet Oz, Democratic Representative John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has been in the public eye. After suffering a stroke, some detractors asserted that the Democratic leader should no longer hold office because she was unfit. After that, Fetterman admitted he was suffering from depression and checked himself into a hospital.

As soon as he was released, his detractors were quick to point out a handful of his embarrassing gaffes in public and cast doubt on the liberal’s mental capacity. They are currently casting doubt on his ability to comprehend the Constitution. In a tweet, Senator Fetterman asserted that the whole reason for the passage of the 14th Amendment was to facilitate debt negotiations.

This comes at a time when the administration of President Joe Biden is mulling over the possibility of invoking the 14th Amendment in order to prevent a default on the nation’s debt. In 1868, three years after the conclusion of the Civil War, the 14th Amendment was finally passed. Former slaves were granted citizenship and provided with due process as a result of this act, but the equal protection clause is what many historians remember it for.

The remark made by Fetterman was promptly investigated by analysts, journalists, and political figures who checked its accuracy. In essence, all of these individuals are of the opinion that Senator Fetterman is either ignorant of or oblivious to the most important motivation behind the passage of the 14th Amendment.

It is blatantly misleading to state that the whole reason for the Amendment is to deal with public debt, and it gives the impression that the Senator is not particularly knowledgeable about either the history or the law of the land. Recently, we’ve seen a lot of elected people who appear to have a very weak understanding of important documents like the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This has been quite concerning.

It would appear that we have transitioned from a time when men dressed appropriately on Capitol Hill and knew all of these documents inside and out to a time when guys in Washington have adopted bum culture and appear to know virtually little about the country’s roots.
