The Liberal SCOTUS Judge Was Landed in Hot Water

The judges of the Supreme Court are responsible for a significant role, which includes listening to oral arguments and deciding contentious matters brought up by subordinate courts. The citizens of the United States count on them to maintain their objectivity and step down from any cases in which they have a discernible conflict of interest.

As a result, when we find out that someone on the Supreme Court has prioritized their own personal gain over their responsibilities, we call for increased transparency and accountability. Sonia Sotomayor, a liberal member of the Supreme Court, has all of a sudden found herself in legal trouble for the very same reason and not just for one incident of payments worth millions of dollars, but for several instances of such payments.

Sotomayor received almost twice as much money as the average compensation of an associate justice on the Supreme Court, which is $268,300 per year, but she only received payments for 2017. This controversy goes further than the past allegations of misbehavior connected to the financial reports of conservative justices, such as the allegation that a wealthy conservative buddy scheduled vacations for Justice Clarence Thomas.

Does this mean that it is acceptable for her to be able to publish books and protect her own copyrights, but it is not acceptable for other authors to do so? Because the plaintiff in every case of alleged copyright infringement claimed that the publisher turned down their proposal and gave the contract to another author instead.

The lower courts, on the other hand, have a tendency to rule in favor of the publisher because Justice Ginsburg refused to recuse herself and voted against the Supreme Court hearing such cases. My inquiry is this: Does Justice Sonia Sotomayor work for the Supreme Court or for Penguin Random House?

Since it appears to me that she is receiving a payoff each time the publishing business wants to steal an author’s story, this leads me to believe that the second option is more accurate. She acts as an insurance policy for Penguin against any author who could struggle to safeguard their work.

The corruption of public officials is a significant problem. Infringement of intellectual property rights is one of the most pressing problems that affect the general population directly. When there is support from a member of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), it is imperative that the highest court begins hearing cases of this nature and establish a new standard.
