Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s Case Was Turned Upside Down

Recently, the illustrious Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been under investigation for possible ethical transgressions that involve a millionaire businessman from Texas and lavish benefits.

However, Thomas has maintained his innocence from the beginning of the investigation, and now a close friend claims to have evidence that will significantly change the direction that the investigation will take. It started with an investigation into Thomas by ProPublica, which discovered that he benefited in particular ways from his association with millionaire industrialist Harlan Crow.

On the other hand, ever since that news item surfaced, Mark Paoletta has been staunchly advocating for Thomas. In response to claims made by Democrats in the Senate that Senator Thomas’ conduct violated court ethics laws, he has been pushing back against those claims.

Paoletta asserts that there is a paper trail of receipts to verify his viewpoint, and he said quite precisely that this matter was put to rest more than ten years ago. According to him, the judgment issued by the Judicial Conference in 2012 came to the conclusion that Thomas acted properly in not disclosing trips. In addition to this, it stated that he “complied with ethics law… under hospitality exception.

Paoletta went on to say that on April 30, 2012, the Judicial Conference reported to Congress that they had investigated the complaints leveled against Thomas and found that nothing has been presented to support the notion that he had violated anything. This was in response to the fact that Thomas had been accused of violating something.

A final point that was brought up by Thomas’s buddy was that, according to the Ethics in Government Act, the Judicial Conference is given the authority to review reports and determine compliance for the judiciary. Paoletta is merely stating that all of this had previously been evaluated and rejected.

Senate Democrats have been after Thomas for months regarding these age-old charges, and Paoletta is simply noting that this has all been denied. It is becoming increasingly apparent that this is just another witch hunt, which appears to be a monumental waste of time. While the nation grapples with very real difficulties, Democrats are dredging up issues that date back a decade and that were thought to have been put to rest.
