🌐 Nearly $100 billion in international aid legislation was approved by the House. The House of Representatives passed three different foreign aid legislation for Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine on Saturday with the support of both political parties. The Ukraine bill was eventually approved, although more Republicans voted against it than in favor of it—112 Republicans opposed it, compared to 101 who supported it.

🕵️‍♂️ The FISA measure was reauthorized and signed into law. The FISA reauthorization measure was passed by the Senate over the weekend and signed into law by President Biden, continuing the extensive spying program of the United States. The only concession made to appease critics was a revision to the reauthorization term, which now occurs every two years rather than every five, despite requests from both parties to restructure the previously abused surveillance instrument.

🚫 In Alaska, the Biden administration prohibited drilling. The Interior Department under President Biden moved to prevent the mining of vital minerals and the drilling for oil on more than 13 million acres in Alaska. Senators from Alaska were incensed by the decision, as President Biden hopes to win over environmentalists before the election.

🪖 Due to human rights abuses, an IDF battalion will face sanctions from the United States. It is anticipated that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will impose penalties on the IDF's Netzah Yehuda battalion. "Ultra-Orthodox" troops who are accused of carrying out severe activities in the West Bank, such as extrajudicial killings, make up Netzah Yehuda. Their alleged offenses took place before October 7th.
