🏛 Sam Bankman-Fried received a 25-year prison sentence. The former cryptocurrency celebrity was given a 25-year prison sentence on Thursday after it was determined that he had stolen $8 billion from FTX clients. In 2022, following the abrupt collapse of the FTX exchange, Bankman-Fried was found guilty on seven charges related to money laundering, conspiracy, and fraud.

📈 Illegal immigration-related violent crime in the US is still on the rise. A 15-year-old girl in Massachusetts was allegedly raped by an illegal immigrant, while an illegal immigrant in Alabama was accused of raping a teenager who was "mentally incapacitated." A Brazilian immigrant who is wanted in his native country for escaping from prison was also captured by ICE officials operating in Massachusetts.

📉 As of right moment, 55% of Americans are against Israel using force in Gaza. Americans have begun to reconsider their support for Israel as its battle against Hamas has gotten more intense in recent months, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Gazans and the displacement of over a million people. The percentage of Americans who support more military action has decreased to 36% from 50% in November, while the percentage who disapprove has increased to 55% from 45% in November.

🏡 Last week, the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act was launched by congressional progressives. The proposal introduced by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) intends to address "environmental injustices" and "reimagine and reinvigorate public housing in the United States." $234 billion would be used to create "280,000 good-paying, union jobs per year" and convert all public housing to zero-carbon emissions.
