2024 ELECTION

Highlights of the 2nd Republican debate

Here is what's going on: Reactions to the second GOP presidential debate on Fox Business have been mixed among conservatives on social media. The debate featured seven prominent Republican candidates at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

Some notable conservative figures praised Ron DeSantis and Doug Burgum for their strong performances, while others criticized Nikki Haley and Tim Scott for frequent interruptions. DeSantis received widespread acclaim for his poised dismantling of arguments and emphasis on his achievements.

Dana Loesch and Meghan McCain both endorsed DeSantis as the debate's winner, but Jon Levin of the New York Post believed Nikki Haley delivered a standout performance. Interestingly, some on social media believed former President Donald Trump, despite his absence from the debate, was the actual victor.

Radio host Jason Rantz acknowledged Trump's perceived success, while also noting the chaotic nature of the debate stage that hindered candidates' responses.

In summary, the second GOP debate generated diverse reactions among conservatives. DeSantis received praise, but opinions varied on the debate's overall winner, with some even suggesting Trump won despite not participating. These differing perspectives highlight the complexity of conservative viewpoints within the Republican Party.

🏠 Insiders in the real estate industry were startled by Trump's decision. Donald Trump committed fraud, according to a New York judge, by lying about his wealth to financial institutions. The former president's Florida estate and country club were evaluated by the judge at an astonishingly low $18 million, leading to rumors that this dramatic undervaluation was intentional. Experts estimate that Trump's estate is worth at least $300 million since nearby properties that are only a small portion of the size of Mar-a-Lago — some of which lack ocean frontage — have been evaluated in today's market at $40 million to $150 million.

How Fauci and the CIA purportedly dismissed the lab leak theory

What's going on: House Republicans assert to have proof that Dr. Anthony Fauci, a former health official, "played a role in the [CIA's] review of the origins of COVID-19," meeting with officials in secret to persuade them that the virus originated naturally rather than in a lab. This was reinforced by a report from the Public, which also stated that Fauci had targeted the White House and the State Department.

Why it's important: Funding for risky research in Wuhan, China, which most certainly contributed to the development and spread of the virus was approved by Fauci. These accounts paint a clearer picture of the lengths he took to shield himself from inquiry.

Making up a story: Emails and messages show that Fauci and another National Institutes of Health (NIH) director "prompted" scientists to prepare a report in 2020 that refuted the hypothesis of lab leaks and authorized it before publication. Fauci then made his case to the CIA, White House, and State Department using the now-discredited report.

  • It was successful: according to a CIA source: "Fauci's expert opinions... substantially altered the conclusions." "He was covering his ass and trying to do it with the intelligence community." Then, it is claimed that the CIA paid off some of its own experts to discount the lab leak idea.

As of right now: State Department agents have corroborated the lab leak idea, but other agencies have not provided a definitive response. The CIA is being pressed for further information on its communications with Fauci by the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
