⚖️ Lawsuits against doctors who perform sex changes are growing. Three U.S. patients have filed lawsuits against physicians who performed "gender-affirming" surgery or administered hormones. The influential American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is the target of two of the suits. The third mentions a medical facility in Boston and claims that the plaintiff's civil rights were violated by the transgender surgeries, which acted as gay conversion therapy.

🚨 In Vermont, three Palestinian college students were shot. On Sunday, Jason Eaton, 48, was taken into custody and accused of trying to kill three young Palestinian men in Vermont. Authorities have not discovered Eaton's past criminal history or ascertained his motivation. 🇮🇱 Musk talks with the president of Israel. Elon Musk, the entrepreneur, was informed by Israeli President Isaac Herzog that antisemitism is pervasive on his social media site X, formerly known as Twitter and that he has "a huge role" to play in curbing it. Some people believe that Musk's trip was a reaction to charges of antisemitism stemming from a post in which he disparaged liberal Jews.

TRENDING IN AMERICA

Disinformation battles target children

Here is what's going on: "Media literacy" classes are being added to K–12 curricula in Democratic-controlled states with the purported goal of training children to recognize hate speech and false information on the internet.

The shows: Recently, California Governor Gavin Newsom approved a measure requiring media literacy content to be taught in several public K–12 classes. A "Media Literacy Tool Kit for K–12 Schools" was unveiled by New York Governor Kathy Hochul to instruct kids on "how to spot conspiracy theories, misinformation, disinformation, and online hate."

  • Furthermore, Delaware, New Jersey, and even Texas are among the states that are joining an increasing number of others in mandating media literacy education in public school settings.

Why it’s important: Institutions on the left have been warning about "disinformation" and "online hate" for a long time. The purported disinformation issue has functioned as a cover for speech restrictions and heightened internet censorship.

  • Re-education: Advocates of online censorship frequently support "fact-checking" and "education" initiatives in public schools. These shows frequently openly target alternative news outlets that oppose the progressive narratives of the mainstream media.

Untrustworthy history: Hunter Biden's laptop and the COVID lab leak idea have both been targeted in the war against "disinformation," which has been defined as false by "official" fact-checkers and mainstream media.

Additionally: The new media literacy law in California was written by Marc Berman, a legislator who stated his priorities clearly: "From vaccine conspiracy theories to climate denial to the January 6 attack on our nation's capital, the spread of online misinformation has had global and deadly consequences."

Facts regarding the Hamas-Israel hostage deal

Here is what's going on: A little over 50 Israeli captives and 150 Palestinian detainees will be freed as part of the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. There is a false belief, nevertheless, that the two groups share the same moral standards.

The real story: The innocent individuals held as prisoners by Israel have never committed any crimes. The youngest is only ten months old, and many of them are under ten years old. Seventeen of the Palestinian inmates about to be released have been found guilty of attempted murder, making up the great majority of their criminal past.

The specifics: Israel is freeing inmates like Mohammed Abu Katish, who stabbed a guy in 2022 and left him crippled, and Shoroqu Dwaiat, who attacked someone in Jerusalem with a kitchen knife. Additionally being freed are Asraa Jabes, who attempted to set off a car bomb, and Misoun Mussa, who stabbed an Israeli police officer in the neck.

  • The Israelis: In contrast, four-year-old Abigail Eden, who witnessed her parents' murders before being abducted by Hamas, is being set free. So is Yahel Shalom, three years old. On October 7, these captives and the other 240 were arbitrarily removed from their houses for no other reason than that they were residents of Israel.

False statement: CNN carried an empathetic news report about the Palestinian captives' release, including a clip of Malak Salman's family celebrating her freedom. However, Salman's attempt to stab and kill an Israeli police officer resulted in his arrest. In an attempt to create a false moral equivalency, this was even referred to as a "prisoner swap" by certain publications.

  • More: In an article about the release of hostages, The New York Times published a photo of a freed Palestinian woman draped in a Hamas banner. A screen split showing 9-year-old Emily Hand getting back together with her family and attempted car bomber Asraa Jabes on the other was highlighted by Reuters.
