Following the news that former President Donald Trump had won the presidential election, Elon Musk took to X in a happy mood. In a social media message, he claimed that Trump had received a clear mandate from Americans for change and underlined that the nation would soon grant its citizens the freedom to construct.
According to reports, Musk strengthened his support for Republican initiatives in the election season by increasing his financial contributions to pro-Trump political groups in October. Musk also contributed $10 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC connected to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and an extra $44 million to America PAC, according to National Review. Additionally, Musk donated more than $2 million to the Pennsylvania-based conservative organization Sentinel Action Fund.

Jessica Anderson, Sentinel Action Fund’s president, expressed gratitude on X, recognizing Musk’s timely financial support for early voting and absentee efforts. She noted that this contribution could significantly impact the Republican’s campaign in Pennsylvania. With a potential Trump return to the White House, a Republican Senate would facilitate the appointment of constitutionalist judges to federal courts, and potentially the Supreme Court, ensuring continuity in Trump’s judicial agenda.

Musk’s donations have totaled close to $120 million for America PAC, a group focused on engaging Republican voters in swing states. His donation was accompanied by substantial contributions from other conservative figures, including $2 million from the DeVos family and $1 million from investor Nelson Peltz. Musk’s spending places him among the most prominent political donors of this election cycle, though it remains only a fraction of his estimated $243 billion net worth.

America PAC has also created a daily prize incentive, offering $1 million to registered swing-state voters who endorse a petition supporting First and Second Amendment rights. This initiative has attracted scrutiny from the Biden-Harris Justice Department, with suggestions that these incentives may violate election laws. Democrats have called for an investigation, while Musk maintained that the prize offerings are independent of voter registration efforts.
Since January, Musk has amassed almost 3.3 billion views through his influence on X, positioning himself as a key player in the 2024 election campaign. According to a CBS News investigation, 361 of Musk’s over 17,000 postings this year focused on possible electoral fraud in the United States. Given Musk’s enormous fan base, each post on this subject received an average of 9.3 million views, even though it only made up a small percentage of his daily activity.

Concerns have emerged among liberals regarding Musk’s social media reach and its potential impact on the election, with many speculating that his support could sway the outcome in favor of Trump and the GOP. While Musk had previously stated it was time for Trump to step aside, his stance shifted following Trump’s assassination attempt in July 2024. Since formally endorsing Trump for a second term, Musk’s posts have consistently supported the Republican candidate.
