President Donald Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, firmly confronted CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during an interview regarding the administration’s extensive deportation strategy. During an appearance on “The Source,” Homan maintained his stance as Collins inquired about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeting illegal aliens taking refuge in schools, churches, and hospitals to evade deportation.

Collins questioned the standard for enforcement actions in elementary schools, citing concerns from immigration advocates about a potential chilling effect on parents. Homan dismissed such concerns, stating that fear was warranted only for those deemed national security or public safety threats. He emphasized that enforcement priorities remain focused on individuals posing risks to the country.

When Collins redirected the discussion to parents who are in the country illegally, Homan made it clear that they were not exempt from enforcement. He reaffirmed that illegal entry constitutes a crime and underscored the administration’s commitment to upholding immigration laws without exception.

Separately, Homan provided updates on the administration’s mass deportation efforts during an appearance on Fox News, revealing increased logistical support from the Pentagon. He noted that the Defense Department’s involvement in air transport operations alleviates financial strain on the Department of Homeland Security while allowing ICE agents to focus on apprehending criminal aliens.

The Pentagon’s allocation of aircraft for deportation efforts was described as an essential resource, enabling law enforcement to intensify operations nationwide. Earlier in the month, Homan addressed enforcement measures in Chicago, one of several Democrat-led cities opposing the administration’s immigration policies. He declared that deportation operations would commence immediately following the inauguration and warned city officials against obstructing federal actions.

Homan’s remarks included direct criticism of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, attributing the city’s challenges to failed leadership. He vowed a visible ICE presence in the city, with agents targeting criminal elements and gang members.

In a subsequent interview with Fox News, Homan elaborated on the administration’s enforcement strategy, affirming that ICE had been instructed to carry out deportations unapologetically. He assured that agents, previously restricted under the Biden administration’s policies, would now be empowered to fulfill their duties without limitations.

Responding to reports of large-scale raids, Homan confirmed that nationwide operations were imminent, extending beyond Chicago to multiple jurisdictions. He underscored the administration’s resolve to restore immigration enforcement to its intended function, asserting that ICE would no longer be restrained by prior directives limiting its authority.

Reflecting on past policies, Homan criticized former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for imposing restrictions that hampered ICE operations. He noted that under the previous administration, agents were instructed to avoid apprehending individuals solely based on illegal status unless they posed an immediate threat.

With the new administration’s directives in place, Homan emphasized that immigration laws would be enforced as intended, signaling a decisive shift in federal policy toward restoring order and upholding national security.
