Fox News host Jesse Watters recently made a lighthearted suggestion that former President Donald Trump should consider naming his colleague, Sean Hannity, to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) if he secures another term in office. Watters humorously speculated that Hannity could work to bridge divides and potentially challenge other cable networks’ licenses, aiming to tackle what many see as media bias.

Trump has been increasingly vocal in his criticism of the legacy news media in recent weeks, accusing them of distorting his words, taking him out of context, and skewing debates. He’s also criticized selective edits made to segments with Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming they were intended to present her in a more favorable light.

According to the former president, networks should forfeit their licenses if they persist in deceiving the public, and he has called for the elimination of guarantees for broadcast licenses. Watters responded by outlining his strategy, which called for Trump to reorganize the FCC and appoint Hannity as its head if he wins. According to Watters, this would enable Hannity to take firm action against slanted news sources.

During the same segment, co-host Greg Gutfeld mocked Comedy Central’s Saturday Night Live for what he described as comedy welfare for the Democratic candidate, referring to Vice President Harris’s recent appearance on the show. Watters joined in, echoing FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr’s criticism of SNL for violating the equal time rule, which mandates that licensed broadcasters provide equal airtime to political candidates.

Watters remarked that Kamala should’ve done Joe Rogan, but instead, she did SNL. He added that this tells everything about the Harris campaign, and the fact that they’re willing to break the law to hurt Trump shows what they’re willing to do if he wins. He added that Trump should’ve been invited, as it would’ve been funnier and gotten better ratings. However, it was pointed out that they are more interested in sacrificing their mission of comedy and profits to hurt Trump.

Despite the criticism, Watters insisted that the damage had already been done. It was too late, he said, for anyone to change their mind. He added that it will be much more enjoyable for Trump to win since it shows that he has to deal with a rigged system, whether it be biased moderators at the debates or critical pieces on 60 Minutes.

Additionally, Watters referenced journalist Glenn Greenwald, who implied that many members of the mainstream media, including some writers and producers, ironically think that the press is biased in favor of Trump. These are not journalists, Watters said, but political operatives.

It was said by Watters that when Trump says he’s going to yank licenses, it’s because these media figures aren’t doing journalism they’re pushing an agenda. It was also stated by him that if Trump wins, he fully expects him to appoint someone strong to the FCC, like Hannity so that heads can be knocked together and those licenses pulled.

In other news, days before the election, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made headlines once more with an unsupported accusation against Trump. During her appearance on the far-left MSNBC, Pelosi implied that Trump’s mental health was declining similar to how President Biden’s has been questioned. Additionally, she contended that supporting Trump entails supporting Trump’s running mate, “horrible” Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio).

Ironically, it was noted that during the interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki, Pelosi struggled to provide coherent responses herself. It was claimed by Pelosi that what the ex-president said recently is more evidence of his cognitive decline, as he was talking about whether he’d prefer electrocution or being eaten by sharks, adding that something is wrong there. Yet, despite Pelosi’s comments, recent polls show that media approval ratings are at an all-time low, calling into question her assertions about the role of the press.
