Former President Donald Trump recently made startling revelations during a podcast interview about who he believes might be involved in assassination attempts against him. Speaking on the popular Flagrant podcast with comedian Andrew Schulz and co-hosts, Trump hinted that he suspects Iran might be behind these plots, citing possible reprisals for his government’s choice to kill a senior leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13 during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet fired by Thomas Crooks, 20, grazed his ear. The tragic incident resulted in the death of one rallygoer and left two others seriously wounded. A month later, Secret Service agents thwarted another attempt at Trump’s West Palm Beach country club, where an alleged shooter, Ryan Wesley Routh, was found hiding near one of the golf course greens.

When asked by Schulz who he thought was behind these attempts, Trump cautiously suggested that Iran might be a likely suspect due to its open threats against him. He criticized President Biden for not taking a stronger stance, suggesting that a firm warning of retaliatory strikes might deter further threats. Trump elaborated that Biden, as a sitting president, should take a strong stand to protect a former president and the leading Republican candidate.

Trump expressed that such threats from a country could be neutralized by promising severe consequences, potentially preventing future attacks. He acknowledged that other countries or entities, like China, could also have motives but reiterated that Iran was the most likely culprit.

In a related development, former Secret Service agent-turned-broadcaster recently speculated that a possible “mole” within the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the Secret Service, may have been compromised by a foreign government, possibly aiding in the assassination attempts.
