Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a strong rebuke to Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett following a series of remarks perceived as threatening toward DOGE head Elon Musk and Republican lawmakers. Bondi’s statement responded to heightened tensions after left-wing activists targeted Tesla dealerships.

During an appearance on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, Bondi accused Crockett of engaging in dangerous rhetoric, arguing that such statements contribute to real-world consequences. She highlighted the discovery of explosive devices in Austin, Texas, shortly after Crockett’s comments, stressing that elected officials must be held accountable for inciting unrest.

After those remarks about Elon Musk had been made, an attempt was made to clarify by stating that violence had not been intended, though it was noted that words carry consequences. Mere hours later, within her own state, three explosive devices were reported to have been discovered in Austin. It was emphasized that an unequivocal denunciation of any form of violence was necessary, Bondi indicated.

She further insisted that an immediate apology is owed not only to Texas residents but to the entire country, as well as to Tesla shareholders who have been impacted by the targeting of the company. Bondi condemned Crockett’s statements as irresponsible, suggesting that they pose a significant threat to public safety.

Additionally, Bondi referenced comments Crockett made about Senator Ted Cruz, which she described as deeply troubling. The attorney general predicted that Crockett could face censure in Congress for such remarks, noting a pattern of using inflammatory rhetoric to gain attention and influence.
Her platform is being exploited for self-elevation while lives are being endangered. The United States of America, a free country, is being used as a backdrop for the encouragement of acts that place people at risk. Considering the events that have already taken place in Texas today, an immediate denunciation and full responsibility for those words must be taken, Bondi continued.

Bondi also criticized the broader hypocrisy among Democrats who claim to champion free speech while simultaneously attacking figures like Elon Musk for exercising it. She warned that Crockett’s rhetoric could incite further disorder, emphasizing that public figures must exercise caution with their statements.
The First Amendment is embraced when it proves convenient, while Elon Musk is resented for exercising his rights. However, the consequences of words cannot be ignored. Caution must be exercised, and there is uncertainty regarding any further statements or intentions. Nevertheless, it has become evident that violence emerged within her own state following those remarks. A condemnation without hesitation is required, Bondi concluded.
Crockett had previously made headlines for remarks made during an online event titled as Tesla Takedown, where she expressed a desire for Musk to be “taken down” on her birthday. The timing of her remarks has drawn scrutiny, especially amid a wave of attacks, doxxing, and vandalism against Tesla employees and property.
Last week, several Tesla vehicles were set on fire at a service center in Las Vegas. Spencer Evans, the special agent in charge of the FBI office in Las Vegas, acknowledged that the incident bore characteristics of a terrorist attack, though investigations remain ongoing. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force has since taken charge of the inquiry.
Additional controversial remarks were made by Crockett while discussing electoral strategy in Texas. When questioned about how Democrats could gain traction in the Republican stronghold, it was stated that striking was an acceptable approach, with an emphasis placed on the act of punching.
The escalation continued as it was stated that Ted Cruz needed to be forcefully struck, emphasizing that no room existed for politeness in dealing with him and that an all-out approach was necessary. The White House on X swiftly condemned Crockett’s remarks, branding her as another unhinged Democrat inciting violence. For her part, Crockett has attempted to downplay her statements, insisting that her rhetoric was nonviolent and merely figurative. However, in light of recent events, scrutiny continues to mount over her inflammatory language and the potential consequences it may carry.
