Recent Poll: Gov Ron DeSantis Leads Trump

According to a poll, if the Republican Party primary in California were held in 2024, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) would be the frontrunner, followed by former President Donald Trump. According to a recent survey conducted by the Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS) at the University of California, Berkeley, 50% of California voters would choose DeSantis as the GOP’s nominee, while only 33% would choose Trump.

Eleven percent of voters said they haven’t made up their minds yet, and six percent said they wouldn’t vote for either DeSantis or Trump.
In a recent poll, only 30% of Californians had a positive opinion of DeSantis, while 55% had a negative one. Although he hasn’t officially announced a run for president, DeSantis is widely seen as Trump’s most formidable primary opponent.

However, in an interview with Fox News on Monday, DeSantis gave hints that he would make a decision on whether to run for president in 2024 after the end of the Florida legislative session this spring.DeSantis has said that the state legislature’s new session will begin on March 8. He also added that We’re going to sell some books, and we’re going to spread the message of Florida.

Nothing like this has happened yet. I think people are going to be really excited about this legislative session because it is going to be the most productive session we have ever had,” DeSantis said. So, that’s what we’ll be doing for the next few months, and once we’re past that, we’ll make a decision.

Days, after a national Rasmussen poll showed Trump with a 13-point lead over DeSantis in a hypothetical head-to-head primary matchup, the Berkeley IGS poll, was released. As of this writing, Trump is the only Republican candidate in the 2024 Republican primary. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is the only other Republican so far.

According to a poll conducted by Berkeley IGS, only 37% of California voters are in favor of President Joe Biden seeking reelection, while 57% are opposed. Similarly, Biden’s Vice President pick, Kamala Harris, has failed to excite voters in the Golden State. Almost two-thirds of California voters are uninterested in supporting Harris for president in 2024 if Biden does not seek reelection.

Between February 14 and February 20, Berkeley IGS polled 7,512 California voters. There is a 2% error margin for the survey.
