The Democrat Midterm Candidate Melts Down on Live TV
The midterm elections are starting to heat up. Perhaps hotter than everyone had anticipated it would be. Even contests for less well-known seats in the House of Representatives are receiving a lot of attention. In the state of Michigan, a Democratic incumbent went battle against her Republican challenger.

The two had a discussion on live television for a local news station. The host brought up the Democrat’s problematic living situation as a topic of conversation. Wow. Let’s take a step back and analyze this circumstance. Elissa Slotkin, the Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District of Michigan, currently resides in an apartment that is owned by one of the individuals who contributed to her campaign.
However, not just any donor will do. A man who is employed with a corporation is awarded millions of dollars in support from the federal government. It would appear that he is a lobbyist, and members of his family are registered to vote at the same address as his apartment. It is not necessary to have much knowledge of politics in order to recognize that there is a potential for a conflict of interest when a congresswoman resides in the house of a lobbyist.
But when he was questioned further about the matter, Slotkin really lost it. She defended her position by arguing that the price that she is paying for the apartment is fair market value. Tom Barrett, her opponent for the state senate, brought up the fact that there are more than 1,500 apartments in her community that are available for rent. Why did she choose the one that appeared to be so worrying?

Recent polls indicate that the Democrat is currently trailing Barrett by a margin of 46.1% to 44.6%. Because her current polling numbers are the lowest they’ve ever been since she was elected, it is quite clear that she is the one who is desperate.
This smells like the kind of corruption that Democrats have been complaining about for a long time but have never done anything to fix. Someone who gave money to her campaign and who later became her landlord is a man who may receive millions of dollars from the government for his company. And there is not the slightest chance that the decisions she makes as a congressman may be impacted in any way by this man or the corporation he works for.
