Top Lawyers Drop the Gavel on FBI Raid
The intrigue that surrounded the raid that the FBI conducted on Trump’s residence is not yet gone. Regarding this investigation, we have not yet received any additional information. But one thing is for certain: it has reignited the passions of millions of people in the United States. And now, prominent attorneys are disclosing that the raid had no “legal basis” whatsoever. The Wall Street Journal published the opinions of two highly regarded attorneys, David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey, on the topic of the raid.

And these legal experts disclosed that there were no “legally valid grounds” for the FBI to raid Trump’s house in the first place. They seem to be repeating a sentiment that is held by a large number of other authorities and leaders. The warrant that was obtained by the FBI had the purpose of seizing any records that could be used as evidence of a crime, more specifically “things illegally possessed.”These attorneys, however, point out that the papers that were confiscated were documents that were written during Trump’s tenure as president.

In addition, the Presidential Records Act safeguards President Trump’s access to records of this nature. That is, he was not unlawfully in possession of documents that had been created for him while he was president. It is ridiculous to suggest that President Trump was breaching the law by retaining records that had been cleared for his view and use while he was in office. According to these lawyers, Trump has a “right of access” to these materials since federal law grants him such a right. This would seem to indicate that the FBI was incorrect in its assumption that he had broken the law.
They even went so far as to break into his home and rifle through her personal possessions, including the clothes that belonged to his wife, on the basis of this false accusation. Not only might this lead to the dismissal of the case, but it also raises the possibility of President Trump bringing legal action against the FBI and the Department of Justice for violating his constitutional rights. I have no doubt that there will be a sizable number of people in this country who agree with him carrying out that plan.
