The Biden administration may be withholding suspicious activity reports pertaining to Hunter Biden, according to a letter from Representative James Comer (R-Kentucky) to Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen. Comer stated that The Biden Administration is restricting Congress’ access to SARs, and Committee Republicans are examining if this change in longstanding protocol is driven by efforts to conceal Hunter Biden and potentially President Biden from the investigation. Despite the Committee’s request for papers and material to be supplied no later than June 8, 2022, the Department of the Treasury has not yet done so.
Before that, a group of Republicans on the House Oversight Committee wrote and delivered a letter to the Biden Administration, asking for access to all records of Hunter Biden’s communications with the Obama administration. The Republicans wrote in an open letter that Hunter needs to be looked into since “he is continuing to profit from” his father’s reputation. The Republicans on the House Oversight Committee said that Hunter Biden’s contacts throughout the Russian sphere of influence have now become extremely crucial in the fast-moving and expanding Russian war in Ukraine.

Given the present international climate and Hunter Biden’s business ties in Ukraine and Russia, we are worried that foreign adversaries may try to exploit problematic business practices and that Hunter Biden may continue to profit from his position as the president’s son. They speculated that NARA might have records from President Biden’s administration that would be useful to the investigation.
It is clear from the letter that Joe Biden is being called out for his alleged role in Hunter’s financial transactions, which he denies. Members of Congress have stated that “the evidence is clearly obvious” that he was not merely aware of the situation but was likely complicit. Joe Biden’s family has reaped financial benefits from his public service for decades. They say that Hunter Biden has benefited greatly from his father’s political career, citing his management of a Ukrainian energy conglomerate, the sale of cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, connections to Kazakhstani oil oligarchs, and the averting of a bribery conviction against a Romanian real estate tycoon as examples.
