Bernie Sanders Criticizes Biden’s Latest Move

Bernie Sanders known for being has been a true supporter of President Joe Biden, is not thrilled with what Biden just did. Sanders has been a supporter of Biden for quite some time. During his appearance on the ABC News program “This Week” on Sunday, the senator, who is an independent but votes with the Democrats, voiced his opposition to the trip that the president is taking to Saudi Arabia.

Sen Bernie Sanders recently mentioned that by criticizing President Biden saying that You have a leader of that country who was involved in the murder of a Washington Post journalist. He was referring to Omar Khadr, a journalist who worked for The Washington Post. That type of government shouldn’t be rewarded with a presidential visit, in my opinion.

He offered his suggestions as an alternative, one of which was a profits windfall tax that the oil companies could be required to pass on to the general public in the form of higher prices. He also claimed that a family worth $100 billion, question democracy, treat women as third-class citizens, and murder and imprison its opponents, he said. This country believes in human rights. We hold a strong belief in democracy. I just don’t think it makes sense for us to keep up friendly relations with a dictatorship like that.”

Additionally, he was not the only supporter of President Biden who voiced their disapproval of the trip. Adam Schiff, a Democrat who represents California in the House of Representatives, is incensed at President Joe Biden for meeting and fist bumping with the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In the course of his diplomatic mission to the Middle East, President Joe Biden made a stop in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss issues pertaining to energy, human rights, and security.

On Friday, the President gave Mohammed bin Salman a fist bump, which the White House explained away by saying it was done as part of the COVID protocol. Schiff wrote on Twitter, If we ever needed a visual reminder of the continuing grip oil-rich autocrats have on U.S.   foreign policy in the Middle East, today we get it. A simple bump of the fist says more than a thousand words.

However, he was not the only person who voiced their disagreement with the president’s fist bump. Florida’s Republican state rep. Byron Donalds told Fox News, “A fist bump for Saudis, a middle finger to the states that are ready to produce the oil Biden is begging Saudi Arabia for.” The phrase “America LAST”

Rep. Chip Roy, a Republican, stated that the trip that President Biden took to Saudi Arabia was “another slap in the face to the face of American oil and gas producers.” Biden has “demonized reliable energy producers from day one” “Now he’s giving the Saudi royal family the middle finger. Despicable.”

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, responded to Rep. Schiff  Maybe we wouldn’t need to rely on foreign autocracies for oil if Dems let us be energy independent again. Joe Biden gave the Saudi crown prince a fist bump.” “11,000 workers on the Keystone XL project were given pink slips by Joe Biden,” said Republican Texas Representative Lance Gooden. The fact that Biden and bin Salman bumped fists is disgusting and weird. It projected intimacy and comfort, giving MBS the unwarranted redemption he sought, said Washington Post publisher Fred Ryan.

Biden has been vocal in his criticism of Putin’s human rights record, as well as his autocratic tendencies and support for an illegal war in Syria. Those rebukes, on the other hand, sound rather insincere in light of current events. The host of MSNBC, Mehdi Hasan, stated that the world is observing the double standards of American foreign policy being put on full display.

Biden said that It was his responsibility to bring up the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the outset of the meeting, Biden mentioned. that he was honest and forthright in his approach to the subject.  Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, stated that an investigation was conducted, that those responsible were punished, and that measures were taken to prevent a recurrence. “This is how nations conduct their affairs. This is what the United States did in response to the error that was committed at Abu Ghraib. There have been investigations and prosecutions of those responsible for the murder of Khashoggi,” he said. In terms of the official discussion, we progressed further in the conversation.”
