Federal Court Orders Biden to Hand it Over

In May, there was a rumor that Gina McCarthy, a top assistant to Joe Biden, had encouraged technology companies to increase their level of censorship of specific ideas. It should come as no surprise that most people thought she was referring to conservative positions. Almost immediately after that, Representative Lance Gooden (R-Texas) opened an investigation into the purported relationship that exists between the government and Big Tech. He cited McCarthy’s comments.
And today, in what Republican Sen. Roy Blunt described as a “major development,” a federal court asked that the administration of Joe Biden turn up any and all correspondence that it had with senior officials of technology companies. The attorneys general are looking for any and all information that pertains to conversations that took place between members of the Biden administration and high-ranking employees of major technology companies.
This verdict, according to Senator Blunt, “paves the way for my Office to gather key records in order to get to the heart of that alleged collaboration.” This is the break that the prosecutors were hoping for, and it may out to be highly illuminating. According to Liz Murrill, the Solicitor General for the State of Louisiana, this demonstrates “the federal government’s plan to turn itself into the speech police.”
