They have made efforts in a number of states to change the congressional districts so that they have an advantage. They fought to prevent a map in one red state that they believed would be advantageous to Republicans. The dispute was brought before the highest court in the land. .

Democrats made an effort to thwart the creation of a congressional map for Louisiana because they believed it would benefit Republicans. Liberals believe that the map gives Republicans an advantage in five of the state’s six districts, but conservatives disagree. One and only one district has a population that is predominantly black, and that district is considered to lean Democratic.
It appears that Democrats wanted to redraw those districts in order to improve their chances of winning in November. However, the highest court in the land dismissed their claims and approved an emergency application from Republicans to keep the map. The upcoming elections will use this map as a reference tool.
For a very long time, Democrats have been attempting to alter congressional districts in order to give their candidates an advantage. They work to dilute areas of a state that they assume to have a Republican-leaning in order to reduce the impact that their votes have.In addition, they give high priority to areas with large minority populations, operating under the assumption that these people will vote for the Democrats.
